Tuna and tomato salad

Tuna and tomato salad

A simple, healthy and quick dish to prepare. However, its total success will depend on the quality of the ingredients.

  • 250 gr of tomatoes
  • A Conservas BayMar can of tuna
  • An onion
  • 200 gr of lettuce
  • Salt
  • Olive oil
  • Garlic

  1. The main secret of salads is to search for the best ingredients to create them. We select the light tuna and tomatoes most appropriate to serve as a base for this dish.
  2. We wash and cut up the tomatoes, placing them in a bowl or platter, whichever is most convenient, and we keep preparing the dish. We cover the tomatoes in water and let them settle.
  3. We go on with the onion. If you’re not a big fan of the intensity and spiciness of onions, there’s a traditional trick to make it softer, which is: to let it settle, once we’ve peeled it and cut it up, in a bowl with a bit of ice.
  4. To achieve a very flavourful plating, we take the plate where we’ll present the salad. We rub the raw garlic on it so its aroma rubs off onto it. We place the drained tomatoes and the onion over it, making it look as nice as possible.
  5. We delicately mix in the tuna.
  6. Finally, we add a bit of lettuce or lamb’s lettuce, so that with a touch of green we obtain a very complete salad. This way it’s ready to eat, nice and fresh.
